Solana Mobile 2.0 Preorder is still open and a key update has been released to members of the community to watch out for a major incentivization event next week.
Solana Mobile Version 2 Backers To Get Incentivized
According to Solana Mobile customers who join the waiting list for the second iteration of the phone through Preorder will get some non-transferable tokens including Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) as incentives.
Amidst the hurdles faced by Solana’s initial phone called Saga, the Layer-1 protocol decided that it was high time it released ‘Chapter 2’ of the device. Based on the details offered about the phone, Solana Mobile phone 2 will retain some core features of Saga including ‘Snapdragon® 8+ Gen 1, 12GB of RAM, 512GM of Flash, 6.67” OLED display’ specifications.
The Solana Mobile 2.0 will also have an integrated crypto wallet, customized Android software, and a “dApp store” for crypto applications. Like every upgraded product, Solana mentioned that the new phone would be affordable while incorporating a new hardware specification.
Solana Saga was capped at a price tag of $1,000 on its launch, although it was later sold for as much as $3,200 on eBay. On the other hand, Solana Mobile 2.0 will have a lower price tag compared to its predecessor. At the moment, it is available for pre-order at $450.
In the space of 48 hours, after its Preorder program was announced, the protocol registered more than 30,000 units of the Solana Mobile paid for. Moving forward, the promise of incentives could push the demand for the phone to unexpected levels within days or weeks of its launch, just as it had down to Solana Saga.
Incentives Piling Up for Solana Phones
Before Solana Saga’s listing on eBay, the demand for the phone reached an overwhelming high, largely contributed by talks about BONK, the pioneering memecoin within the Solana ecosystem.
Every Solana Saga buyer was eligible for an attractive amount of 30,000 BONK. This revelation drove the demand for the phone very high and eventually caused it to get sold out. The urge to take a cut of the pie was why the device’s valuation on eBay soared through the roof.
For the new Solana Mobile version, it is not yet certain if there will be any BONK airdrop giveaways added to the incentives. However, its integration might go a long way in causing a demand jump for the device. The announced incentive program for the Chapter 2 phone may do as much as the BONK airdrop did for Saga last December.
