In recent market action, bitcoin traded at roughly $45,200 apiece, up 3.6% from 5 p.m. ET Monday, prices from CoinDesk showed.
The currency hasn’t ended the day above $45,000 since April 2022, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
Shares of MicroStrategy, a software intelligence firm that holds a lot of bitcoins, jumped more than 9%.
