Today, Roblox announced the next iteration of its community marketplace titled the ‘Creator Store.’ Previously called the Creator Marketplace, this change brings a number of updates to the platform with regards to safety, monetization, and convenience. The aim of the Creator Store is to streamline development of games and worlds in Roblox by enabling creators to share assets of all kinds with one another, including models, audio files, plugins, fonts, and more.
One of the main changes being rolled out to the Creator Store is automatic and manual security scanning. Assets uploaded to the Creator Store will be automatically scanned for malicious code and other harmful elements, while over 50% of items uploaded will be manually scanned by humans working for Roblox. Some of the other important changes include semantic search, contextual recommendations, and the ability to monetize your assets for 100% of the profit, minus sales tax and processing fees.
