To this day, Roblox is one of the most popular sandbox games in the world, increasingly evolving over the past couple of years into a social platform in its own right. Now, it’s going to have an extra dose of Malta in it, thanks to a cooperative game designed just for it!
Alien Attack is the brainchild of Metaverse Architects, a full tech development studio whose aim is to design and develop spaces, shops, and experiences for the Metaverse.
The studio’s co-founder, tech entrepreneur Sean Ellul, has not shied away from highlighting the importance of children’s games like Roblox in how we understand the metaverse, saying anyone who plays similar games is already a step ahead of everyone else. Now, Metaverse Architects have taken that point into a physical manifestation, with their first game within the game.
“Alien Attack is a cooperative game in which players can join the attack to fight off aliens coming to take over the world,” Metaverse Architects told Lovin Malta of their latest endeavour. “The game was inspired by the old school game Space Invaders, using modern game dev techniques to create a more immersive 3D experience.”
“The ability to fight alongside other players seamlessly makes it easy for groups of friends to jump in together to fight their way further and further into the game.”
And with 11 different guns which can be purchased and upgraded to help you figure out how best to blast those otherworldly nasties, there’s something for every play style.
Metaverse Architects will also be creating a Leaderboard-specific Roblox giveaway at the end of the month, with more information coming soon on their own Discord channel.
But this isn’t the end of the line for the Maltese studio, with more games being promised in the future!
“We plan to pioneer new-found systems and methods in engaging, educating and entertaining youth in immersive worlds, on a platform that’s available on every single device,” Metaverse Architects finished.
With over 65 Million Daily Active Users, Roblox is an emerging social platform which has pioneered in-world engagement with young internet users across the globe.
