Metaverse: Cesc Provides Customer Services In Metaverse

Kolkata: Kolkata-based CESC Ltd has become India’s first utility to provide customer services in Metaverse, a 3-dimensional depiction of its customer service facilities in a virtual and immersive environment. It will allow customers to avail of services like viewing and paying bills and apply for new connections, air conditioner, and name change applications virtually while experiencing the real-world feel. “Customers can also create personalized avatars and enter the Metaverse office, where they are welcomed by the CESC mascot. The lounge features screens displaying informative content about CESC. To add to the experience, it also allows entertainment via a gaming zone that is included where customers can enjoy online video games,” said CESC managing director (distribution), Debasish Banerjee. Metaverse is a term used to describe virtual worlds and computer-generated spaces where users can interact and avail services with digital objects around them. The technology behind the Metaverse involves a combination of various cutting-edge technologies including Virtual reality (VR) which plays a significant role, where users can wear VR headsets to enter the virtual world and interact with it using hand controllers or other input devices.

30 candidates use bluetooth devices to write Customs exam in Chennai, held

Customs officials in Chennai caught 30 candidates using electronic devices to cheat during a Central Board of Excise and Customs examination. The candidates, from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, were found with bluetooth devices and other gadgets. One candidate was remanded in custody for impersonating another candidate. The police have yet to locate the person who aided the cheating from outside. The candidates, who were working in menial jobs, were lured by a team to take the exam by paying a fee and obtaining the electronic devices.
